The Gang’s All Here (1943)

My Review

“The Gang’s All Here” was a lavish musical directed and choreographed by the legendary Busby Berkeley (“Hollywood Hotel” 1937), starring Alice Faye, Carmen Miranda, and James Ellison. Miranda wore her signature fruit-filled hat in this very entertaining picture, written by Walter Bullock.

The popular box office success for 20th Century Fox was nominated for one Oscar, for Best Art Direction. The supporting cast for “The Gang’s All Here” included Benny Goodman and his orchestra, Phil Baker, Eugene Pallette, Charlotte Greenwood, Edward Everett Horton, Tony DeMarco, and Jeanne Crain in a small, uncredited role, which was her motion picture debut.
