My Review

“Sleeping Dogs” is a crime drama about a former homicide detective with Alzheimer’s disease trying to solve a murder from ten years ago. As he pieces together long-buried evidence, shocking details begin to emerge. This well-constructed and engrossing thriller was expertly constructed by director Adam Cooper in his big screen debut. He also co-wrote the lucid screenplay with Bill Collage, based on the 2017 novel “The Book of Mirrors” by E. O. Chirovici. It was filmed in Australia.

Russell Crowe delivers an exceptional performance in the lead role of the very human retired cop. Co-stars include Karen Gillan, Marton Csokas, Thomas M. Wright, Harry Greenwood, Tommy Flanagan, and Elizabeth Blackmore. This compelling crime drama and watchable escapist entertainment “Sleeping Dogs” was a flop at the box office for Nickle City Productions, Highland Film Group, and The Avenue Entertainment.
