I’ll Be Right There (2023)

My Review

“I’ll Be Right There” is a comedy-drama film about a divorced middle-aged woman trying to balance her own romantic life with the needs of her family, like her mother’s health concerns, her pregnant daughter’s wedding plans, and her son’s uncertain future. Edie Falco stars in the top role, bringing her own talent and charisma to the part. These also benefited her through two popular television characters: Carmela Soprano on “The Sopranos” (1999-2007) and “Nurse Jackie” (2009-2015).

Director Brendan Walsh kept a firm hand on production, letting Edie be Edie, from an excellent screenplay by Jim Beggarly. Co-stars include Jeannie Berlin, Charlie Tahan, Kayli Carter, Michael Rappaport, Michael Beach, Sepideh Moafi, and Bradley Whitford as Henry. The watchable “I’ll Be Right There” is an independent production from producer Brandan Walsh, Open Swim Production Company, A Bigger Boat Productions, and Brainstorm Media.
