My Review

“Marshall” is a biopic featuring Chadwick Boseman as Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American U. S. Supreme Court Justice, with the movie concentrating on the first case of his career in 1940. Director Reginald Hudlin (“Boomerang” 1992) put together an absorbing courtroom drama from a screenplay by Michael Koskoff and Jacob Koskoff. The film received on Academy Award nod for Best Original Song (“Stand Up for Something” by Diane Warren and Common, performed by Andra Day).

Chadwick Boseman was an outstanding actor with refined performing skills in the variety of his motion picture roles; He is sorely missed. Co-stars include Kate Hudson, James Cromwell, Josh Gad, Dan Stevens, Sterling K. Brown, John Magaro, Derrick Baskin, Jeremy Bobb, Sophia Bush, and Jussie Smollett as Langston Hughes. The watchable “Marshall” was a box office bomb for Chestnut Ridge Productions, Starlight Media, Hudlin Entertainment, and Open Road Films. It was filmed in Los Angeles, California, and Buffalo, New York, including Niagara Falls.
