My Review

John Wayne plays a federal agent who receives an assignment to infiltrate an Arizona medicine show, due to his boss’ suspicion that they are a cover for a counterfeiting operation in “Paradise Canyon.” Director Carl L. Pierson put together this entertaining B-movie from an acceptable screenplay by Lindsley Parsons and Robert Emmett.

The cast with the Duke includes Yakima Canutt, Marion Burns, Reed Howes, Earle Hodgins, Gino Corrado, Gordon Clifford, and Earl Dwire as the Sheriff. The watchable “Paradise Canyon” was popular at the Depression Era box office for Monogram Pictures Corporation. This was the typical movie with an under one-hour running-time that John Wayne starred in before he hit superstardom in 1939’s “Stagecoach.”
