My Review

“September 5” is a historic drama movie retelling the events of September 5, 1972, when eight Palestinian terrorists took eleven Israeli athletes hostage at the Summer Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. Members of the ABC sports crew were forced to cover hard news for the first time in their careers. Director Tim Fehlbaum (“The Colony” 2021) put together an excellent look back at a crucial moment in broadcast history.

The ensemble cast includes Peter Sarsgaard as Roone Arledge (President of ABC Sports), John Magaro, Ben Chaplin, Leonie Benesch, Zinedine Soualem, Georgina Rich, Corey Johnson, and Benjamin Walker as newscaster Peter Jennings. “September 5” is a watchable film currently in theatrical release from producers Sean Penn and Tim Fehlbaum, Berghaus Wobke Filmproduktion, Projected Picture Works, Constantin Film, Edgar Reitz Filmproduktion, and Paramount Pictures.
