My Review

Sequels are often inferior products compared to the original film. This is not the case with “A Quiet Place Part II,” which contains more action sequences and moves along at a more rapid and even pace than 2018’s “A Quiet Place.”

Credit goes to director-screenwriter John Krasinski, who shared producer duties with Michael Bay (“Transformer” film series). He also starred in the original and makes an appearance in flashback sequences in number two, with his real-life wife Emily Blunt.

She continues her role as Evelyn Abbott, the widow who carries on the fight against some creepy aliens with her children, played by Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds. The supporting cast includes Cillian Murphy, Djimon Hounsou, Scoot McNairy, Dean Woodward, Okjeriete Onaodowan, and Wayne Duvall as a grocery store owner.

The watchable “A Quiet Place Part II” was popular at the box office for producers Michael Bay and John Krasinski, Platinum Dunes, Sunday Night Productions, and Paramount Pictures. Filming took place in Buffalo and western New York and towns in the Hudson Valley, New York. There was a spin-off called “A Quiet Place: Day One” (2024), and a possible “A Quiet Place Part III” (2027).
