My Review

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello play two bumbling detectives who try to help a boxer clear his name of murder and then watch him disappear in “Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man.” Director Charles Lamont (“Ma and Pa Kettle” 1949) kept the two comedians on track with their usual wacky comedy bits, from an acceptable screenplay by Robert Lees, Frederic I. Rinaldo, and John Grant.

The cast includes Lou Costello, Bud Abbott, Nancy Guild, Arthur Franz, Sheldon Leonard, William Frawley, Adele Jergens, Gavin Muir, Sam Balter, Paul Maxey, and James Best, well known in the future as Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane on CBS’s “The Dukes of Hazzard” (1979-1985). The very hilarious and very watchable “Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man” was popular at the box office for Universal Pictures.
