Aloha (2015)

My Review

“Aloha” is a romantic comedy-drama film about a retired Air Force officer who returns to his old station in Hawaii to oversee the launch of a privatized weapons satellite over the islands. The confusing plot, meandering storyline, and unfocused direction by Cameron Crowe (“Vanilla Sky” 2001) make this a completely unwatchable film. The terrible screenplay was also written by Crowe. Is this a romantic comedy? A political drama? A family film? No one knows for sure, maybe not even Cameron Crowe.

The cast includes Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Alec Baldwin, Bill Camp, and Danny McBride. “Aloha” was a major flop at the box office for Columbia Pictures, LStar Capital, Regency Enterprises, Scott Rudin Productions, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Oahu, Hawaii.
