Angels & Demons (2009)

My Review

Producer-director Ron Howard followed his big hit “The Da Vinci Code” (2006) with another conspiracy-laden project called “Angels & Demons.” This film is more action-oriented and very slickly produced with a very thin storyline. It has Tom Hanks returning as Harvard professor Robert Langdon, this time running around the city of Rome with cohorts trying to prevent an attack on Vatican City by the Illuminati.

The cast includes Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgard, Pierfrancesco Favino, and Rance Howard as Cardinal Beck. “Angels & Demons” was the ninth highest grossing film of 2009 for Columbia Pictures, Imagine Entertainment, Skylark Productions, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Italy and in Los Angeles, especially at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City. The third and final film in the series would be “Inferno” (2016).
