Aquaman (2018)

My Review

Jason Momoa stars as “Aquaman,” who sets out to lead the underwater kingdom of Atlantis and stop his evil brother from uniting the seven underwater kingdoms to destroy the surface world. Director James Wan (“Furious 7” 2015) did not really offer anything new in yet another superhero picture. But he did fill most of the film with endless action scenes and adventure-filled storylines. The adequate screenplay was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall.

The cast includes Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, William Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison, Ludi Lin, Randall Park, and Graham McTavish as King Atlan, the first king of Atlantis. Appearing in voice roles are Julie Andrews, John Rhys-Davies, and Djimon Hounsou. The watchable “Aquaman” was the fifth highest grossing film of 2018 for DC Films, The Safran Company, and Warner Bros. Pictures. The only sequel would be “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (2023).
