Around the Bend (2004)

My Review

Christopher Walken plays a man who moves in with his ailing father and a grown son he barely knows in “Around the Bend.” Director-screenwriter Jordan Roberts put together a convoluted family melodrama that struggles to hold the audience’s attention for the short 85 minute running time of the film.

The cast talks and talks and drives each other (and viewers) crazy, which includes Christopher Walken, Michael Caine as his father, Josh Lucas as his son, Glenne Headly as his dad’s nurse, Jonah Bobo, Kathryn Hahn, Norbert Weisser, David Eigenberg, Gary Bamman, Laurie O’Brien, and Michael O’Neill as the Cowboy. The unwatchable “Around the Bend” was a flop even at the art house cinema box office for Warner Independent Pictures.
