My Review

“Avengers: Infinity War” follows the Avengers superhero team and their allies as they try to stop a new villain named Thanos from collecting all six Infinity Stones and erasing half of all life in the universe. Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo tightly directed this third in the series (“The Avengers” 2012 and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” 2015), orchestrating over 25 superheroes in one film in a most ambitious fashion. The screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely has a clear and easy to follow storyline, fast moving action sequences, and well organized interaction between the superheroes making the 149 minute running time flow smoothly and rapidly.

The cast is headed by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, leader of the Avengers, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, leader of the Guardians, and Josh Brolin as Thanos, the heavy of the piece. Downey’s disciples include Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Benicio del Toro, William Hurt, Leticia Wright, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Bettany, and Idris Elba.

The watchable “Avengers: Infinity War” was the highest grossing film of 2018 for producer Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and The Walt Disney Company. It was the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, filmed in Georgia, Scotland, and England. The sequel and series conclusion is “Avengers: End Game” (2019).
