Baby Driver (2017)

My Review

“Baby Driver” is an action movie about a getaway driver seeking freedom from his life of crime, which his boss is reluctant to allow to happen. This engrossing though formulaic thriller was capably written and directed by Edgar Wright (“The World’s End” 2013), with more than its share of shoot-outs and car-chase scenes. The film’s nearly two hours could have been trimmed by 15-20 minutes.

The cast includes Ansel Elgort as the baby driver, with Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Eiza Gonzalez, Jon Bernthal, C. J. Jones, Sky Ferreira, Jon Spence, and Paul Williams as The Butcher. The surprisingly watchable escapist entertainment movie “Baby Driver” was a big hit at the box office for TriStar Pictures, Working Title Films, MRC, Big Talk Productions, and Sony Pictures Releasing.
