Bandolero! (1968)

My Review

James Stewart and Dean Martin play two brothers on the run from the law in “Bandolero!” They flee from Texas to Mexico with Raquel Welch, pursued by a crooked sheriff, sensitively portrayed by George Kennedy. Director Andrew V. McLaglen (“The Way West” 1967) does a good job directing traffic with an all-star cast. The well written screenplay by James Lee Barrett helped out.

Co-stars include Will Geer, Andrew Price, Denver Pyle, Harry Carey Jr., Dub Taylor, Don Barry, Jock Mahoney, and John Mitchum (brother of Robert Mitchum). The watchable and fun horse opera “Bandolero” was a modest success at the box office for 20th Century Fox. It was filmed in Texas, Utah, and Arizona.
