In “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey,” we visit the year 2691, when Bill and Ted’s music has created a utopian society. However, the ruler of the future informs the pair that they must compose a new song to save life as we know it. The hilarity and some drama proceeds from there, well handled by Pete Hewitt in his directorial debut. He is definitely help out by screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who penned the script for the original film “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure ” (1989).

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter return in the title roles, “awesome” as ever. This movie was a modest success at the box office, prompting a third film to be released in 2020 called “Bill & Ted Face the Music.” The movie series definitely has a cult following. Co-stars include George Carlin, William Sadler, Pam Grier, Hal Landon Jr., Joss Ackland, Amy Stoch Poynton, and William Thorne and Brendan Ryan as a young Ted & Bill, repectively. It was released by Columbia Pictures and Orion Pictures, modestly successful at the box office. It was filmed at numerous locations throughout Southern California.
