Darling Companion (2012)

My Review

Diane Keaton rescues a stray dog and decides to keep it. much to the consternation of her physician husband in “Darling Companion.” Director Lawrence Kasdan (“Silverado” 1985) put together a run-of-the -mill dog picture which he co-wrote with his wife Meg Kasdan. The film is not offensive in any way, but is a bit on the boring side. Dog lovers should enjoy it immensely, as well as art house cinema attendees.

The cast includes Diane Keaton as the star, Kevin Kline as her hubby, Elizabeth Moss as their daughter, San Shepard as the sheriff, Dianne Weist as her best friend, and Richard Jenkins as Russell. The somewhat watchable “Darling Companion” was a flop at the box office for producer Larry Kasdan, Werc Werk, Works, Likely Story, Kasdan Pictures, and Sony Pictures Classics. It was filmed in Utah.
