“Downhill” is a dark comedy about a family’s ski vacation turned upside down by, among other things, an avalanche. Directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash did a marvelous job of instilling the film with lots of laughs mixed with some drama. They co-wrote the screenplay with Jesse Armstrong.
The cast includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Will Ferrell, Miranda Otto, Zoe Chao, Zach Woods, Kristofer Hivju, Alex Macqueen, Julian Grey, and Giulio Berruti as Guglielmo. The watchable “Downhill” had limited engagement in theaters, and was released on digital platforms and dvd by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. It was produced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Searchlight Pictures, and The Walt Disney Company, and filmed in Austria.
