My Review

“Elevation” is a science fiction movie about survivors of an attack on Earth by giant insect-like creatures who cannot live above eight thousand feet above sea level. So the remnant take refuge in the Rocky Mountains. When they run low on supplies, they must venture below the 8K level, with the drama proceeding from there. Director George Nolfi (“The Adjustment Bureau” 2011) put together an engrossing scifi thriller with some resemblance to “Alien” (1979) and “A Quiet Place” (2018).

The well written screenplay was penned by John Glenn, Kevin Roman, and Jacob Ryan. The cast turned in good performances including Anthony Mackie, Morena Baccarin, Maddie Hasson, Shauna Erp, Rachel Nicks, Tyler Grey, and Danny Boyd Jr. as Hunter. The watchable “Elevation” was a flop at the box office for producers George Nolfi and Anthony Mackie, Lyrical Media, Grinder Monkey, John Glenn Entertainment, and Vertical. The movie has found greater success on streaming services like Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max. It was filmed on location in Colorado.
