Finding Dory (2016)

My Review

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios took thirteen years to develop a sequel to “Finding Nemo” (2003), and it was well worth the wait. “Finding Dory” tells the amusing story of a memory-challenged fish named Dory on a journey to be reunited with her parents. Excellent direction by Andrew Stanton (“Toy Story 5” 2026), along with the clever screenplay he wrote with Victoria Strouse, and the 3-D computer-generated imagery, make for an engrossing and entertaining film.

The voice cast returnees includes Ellen DeGeneres as Dory, Albert Brooks as Marlin, John Ratzenberger, William Dafoe, Brad Garrett, Allison Janney, Stephen Root, Dominic West, and Alexander Gould. Newbies include Kate McKinnin, Kaitlin Olson, Ed O’Neill, Eugene Levy, Diane Keaton, Idris Elba, Bill Hader, and Sigourney Weaver as herself. “Finding Dory” was the third highest grossing film of 2016 for Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studios, and The Walt Disney Company.
