Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)

My Review

The real star of “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” is not Godzilla or Kong, but rather the special effects. In fact, the FX is the only real positive characteristic this movie has going for it, as there is no discernable plot or storyline, and the cast delivers lousy performances. Director Adam Wingard, who gave us “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2012), to which this is a sequel, did a lousy job on all fronts. The story of Kong encountering relatives in “Hollow Earth” is an absurd storyline. And then later in the picture he again battles Godzilla!

The actors delivered abysmal performances, including Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, Fala Chen, Rachel House, and Anthony Brandon Wong. Not surprisingly, the unwatchable nonsense “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” was the eighth highest grossing film for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in Queensland, Australia.
