Grand Canyon (1991)

My Review

“Grand Canyon” is a drama film about relationships between people from diverse areas of Los Angeles. Producer-director Lawrence Kasdan (“Silverado” 1985) made this something of an updated version of his 1983 movie “The Big Chill,” another touchy-feely movie about people’s feelings, inner thoughts, and friendships. He co-wrote the screenplay with his wife Meg Kasdan.

The cast includes Kevin Kline, Danny Glover, Steve Martin, Mary McDonnell, Mary-Louise Parker, Alfre Woodward, Jeremy Sisto, Tina Lifford, and Randall Mell. The mediocre and not so grand “Grand Canyon” underperformed at the box office for producer Lawrence Kasdan and 20th Century Fox. It was filmed in Arizona, Utah, and California.
