My Review

“Groundhog Day” is a fantasy-comedy film about a man who gets caught in a time loop at the February 2 Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. The movie seems repetitive and monotonous for a while, but does come to a conclusion with a good moral message, thanks to skillful structuring of the film by producer-director Harold Ramis, who also penned the screenplay with Danny Rubin.

Bill Murray is the star of the show, bringing his unique style to the role. His co-stars include Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliot, Brian Doyle-Murray, Marita Geraghty, Stephen Tobolowsky, Angela Paton, Rick Ducommun, Ric Overton, and Robin Duke as Doris the waitress. Director Ramis has a cameo as a neurologist. “Groundhog Day” was a success in theatrical release for Columbia Pictures. It was filmed in Woodstock, Illlinois.
