Home Again (2017)

My Review

Reese Witherspoon plays a forty-year-old single mother who allows three young filmmakers to move into her guest house in “Home Again.” All goes smoothly until her ex-husband and two grown daughters show up unexpectedly, with the comedy and drama proceeding from there. Director-screenwriter Hallie Meyers-Shyer assembled a laugh-filled romantic comedy with good production values, a great cast, and excellent writing. This was Meyers-Shyer’s motion picture debut.

The cast includes the winsome Reese Witherspoon in the lead role, Nat Wolff, Jon Rudnitsky, and Pico Alexander as the boarders, Michael Sheen as her estranged hubby, Candace Bergen as her mum, Lola Flanery and Eden Grace Redfield as the daughters, and Lake Bell, Reid Scott, Dolly Wells, P. J. Byrne, and Josh Stamberg in supporting roles. The watchable and entertaining “Home Again” was a modest box office success for Waverly Films, Black Bicycle Entertainment, and Open Road Films. It was filmed in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles.
