I Can Only Imagine 2 (2026)

My Review

“I Can Only Imagine 2” continues the story of MercyMe lead singer Bart Millard as he navigates personal, family, and career issues which began in the first film of 2018. Director Andrew Erwin (“I Can Only Imagine” 2018) did a fantastic job in part two with good production values, fine performances, and a marvelous script by Brent McCorkle (who also co-directed).

The cast is headed by John Michael Finley, who continues the role of Bart Millard from the original. Co-stars include Milo Ventimiglia as singer Tim Timmons, Sophie Skelton as Mrs. Millard, Dennis Quaid as Bart’s father, Trace Adkins as MercyMe’s manager, and Sammy Dell as Bart’s son. “I Can Only Imagine 2” broke even at the box office for producer Bart Millard, Kingdom Story Company, LD Entertainment, Mission Pictures International, and Lionsgate Films. It was filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, and at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.
