“I Wanna Hold Your Hand” is a comedy film about a group of teenagers who devise wild schemes to sneak into the Beatles’ first appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” on February 9, 1964. Director Robert Zemeckis put together a humorous look at an historical event with some slapstick humor and even some insight into the culture of the 1960’s.

The cast of mostly unknown young people is headed by Nancy Allen with Will Jordan appearing as Ed Sullivan. Co-stars include Eddie Deezen, Mark McClure, and Susan Kendall Newman (daughter of Paul Newman). The watchable “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” was a flop at the box office for Universal Pictures. The 98 minute long film was filmed entirely in Los Angeles, California, chockful of Beatles music.
