Ice Age: Collision Course (2016)

My Review

While trying to bury his acorn, Scrat accidentally activates an abandoned space ship that propels him into orbit around the Earth, sending asteroids crashing down upon the surface of the planet in “Ice Age: Collision Course.” Meanwhile, Scrat’s friends Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, and the gang are blissfully unaware of the problems headed their way, with comedy and drama ensuing.

Director Mike Thurmeier and screenwriters Michael J. Wilson, Michael Berg, and Yoni Brenner put together a fun-filled animated comedy which is the fifth in the “Ice Age” franchise (2002, 2006, 2009, 2012). “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild” is a spinoff released in 2022 with 20th Century Animation on Disney+.

The voice cast includes Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Simon Pegg, Jennifer Lopez, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Nick Offerman, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Chris Wedge as Scrat, the saber-tooth squirrel. “Ice Age: Collision Course” was a success at the box office for 20th Century Fox Animation, Blue Sky Studios, and 20th Century Fox.
