Harrison Ford returns for a fourth time as Indiana Jones, who, in 1957, is forced to help a Soviet agent find a crystal skull, which she believes will help the Soviet Union win the Cold War in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Executive producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg (“Catch Me if You Can” 2002) outdid themselves as they put together the exciting fourth Indiana Jones film. It has all of the bells and whistles of the other movies of the series, including a screenplay by David Koepp and the musical score by John Williams.

The cast includes Harrison Ford as Indy, Cate Blanchett as the Soviet agent, Karen Allen returns as Marion Ravenwood, Shia LaBeouf as her son, Ray Winstone as an English agent, Alan Dale as Gen. Ross, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent as Indy’s old friends, and Chet Hanks (son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson) in a cameo as a student in the library. The watchable “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was the second highest grossing movie of the year for Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Pictures.

The film won the Golden Raspberry Award for the Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel. The fifth and final film in the series “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” was released in 2023, by that time owned by The Walt Disney Company.
