My Review

“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” is an entertaining sequel to 1995’s “Jumanji,” a fantasy action-adventure film based on the 1981 book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. Director Jake Kasdan (“Sex Tape” 2014) and the screenwriters (Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner) updated the material to emphasize comedy rather than the scary animal attack scenes that seemed to dominate the 1995 original. Movie-goers responded positively by making it the fifth highest grossing movie of 2017.

The cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Rhys Darby, Bobby Cannavale, Missy Pyle, and Colin Hanks in an uncredited role. The actors displayed good chemistry which contributed to the success of the watchable film “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” from Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures.
