Keeping Up with the Joneses (2016)

My Review

“Keeping Up with the Joneses” is a comedy-action film telling the story of a suburban couple who suspect that their new neighbors are government spies. Director Greg Mottola (“The Daytrippers” 1996) and screenwriter Michael LaSieur failed to capitalize on the promising premise. It is largely a predictable formulaic storyline we have seen before.

The cast includes Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher as the couple impressed with the more worldly neighbors played by Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot. Co-stars include Matt Walsh, Patton Oswalt, Kevin Dunn, Maribeth Monroe, and Bobby Lee. “Keeping Up with the Joneses” was a major box office bomb for Fox 2000 Pictures, Image Nation Studios, and 20th Century Fox.
