Last Christmas (2019)

My Review

“Last Christmas” is a Christmas romantic comedy-drama with the charms of stars Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding on full display, but the mediocre storyline by screenwriters Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings taking some of the glitter out of the Holiday cheer. The 103 minute cliche-ridden running time seemed to drag on and on. Director Paul Feig (“Spy” 2015) was apparently on autopilot for the duration of the production, leading to more yawns in the audience than there were kisses on the big screen.

The cast includes Henry Golding, Emilia Clarke, Michelle Yeoh, Emma Thompson, Patti Lupone, Rob Delaney, and Lydia Leonard. “Last Christmas” was a solid commercial success for Feigco Entertainment, Perfect World Pictures, Calamity Films, and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in and around London, England.
