Max (2015)

My Review

“Max” is the story of a military trained dog used to help the Marines in Afghanistan. During an attack, the dog is injured and his handler is killed. The dog is then returned to America, where he has trouble being socialized except around his handler’s surviving younger brother. The family-friendly drama proceeds from there, well directed by Boaz Yakin (“Remember the Titans” 2000), who co-wrote the screenplay with Sheldon Lettich.

The cast includes Josh Wiggins, Lauren Graham, Thomas Haden Church, Jay Hernandez, Robbie Arnell, and Carlos the dog as Max. The watchable “Max” was a modest success at the box office for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, Sunswept Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was filmed in North Carolina.
