Minions & Monsters (2026)

My Review

“Minions & Monsters” tells the story of a group of Minions in 1920’s Hollywood who become silent movie superstars, accidentally releasing real monsters on the world. However, when talkies came to show business they were fired because they don’t speak English and only speak Minionese. So they start to make their own films, with the comedy and drama proceeding from there. Director Pierre Coffin did a fair job with this third film in the “Minions” franchise. It did have lots of laughs, but ran out of steam about half way through the film. The screenplay with Brian Lynch and Coffin is filled with inconsistencies.

Pierre Coffin heads the voice cast as all the Minions, including James, Henry, Ed, Dick, and Greg. Co-stars include Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Bobby Moynihan, and George Lucas. “Minions & Monsters” was a box office hit for Illumination and Universal Pictures. The first two films were “Minions” (2015) and “Minions: The Rise of Gru” (2022).
