Moana (2016)

My Review

“Moana” is an animated musical film about the daughter of a Polynesian tribal chief who goes on a journey across the Pacific Ocean to save her people. Directors John Musker and Ron Clements and screenwriter Jared Bush did a fantastic job of creating this feel-good movie, not only with the exciting storyline but also with the colorful computer-generated animation that especially looks good in 3-D. “Moana” is the 56th Walt Disney animated feature film, which follows the 1st Walt Disney animated feature film – “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1937).

The voice cast includes Auli’i Cravalho as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Temuera Morrison as her father, Rachel House as her grandmother, Jemaine Clement as a giant crab, and Alan Tudyk as Moana’s pet rooster. The music was penned by Mark Mancina, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Opetaia Foa’i. “Moana” was a huge hit at the box office for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studios, and The Walt Disney Company.
