Monkey Kingdom (2015)

My Review

“Monkey Kingdom” is the eighth film in the Disney Nature library telling the story of a family of monkeys living in ancient ruins in the beautiful jungles of Sri Lanka. Directors Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill employed numerous camera angles to catch the amazing shots of the creatures. Credit goes to the amazing cinematography of Martyn Colbeck and Gavin Thurston.

Tina Fey does a wonderful job as the Narrator of this 81 minute documentary film. “Monkey Kingdom” was modestly successful at the box office for Disneynature, Silverback Films, Crazy Ape Productions, and Walt Disney Studios. To date, there are 17 total Disneynature feature films, staring with “Earth” (2007) to “Orangutan” (2026). One highlight was “Oceans” (2009).
