My Review

“Mr. Malcolm’s List” is a period romantic drama film set in the early 1800’s in England. It tells the story of a young woman who enlists the help of a friend to get revenge on a suitor who rejected her. Director Emmy Holly Jones and screenwriter Suzanne Allain have created an easy-to-follow storyline with loads of chick flick drama. It was adapted from Allain’s 2009 romance novel of the same name.

The cast includes Freida Pinto, Sope Dirisu, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ashley Park, Zawe Ashton, Theo Jones, Naolo Mor, and Sophie Vavesseur. The watchable “Mr. Malcolm’s List” was basically released in art house cinemas, so did not make much dough for Ingenious Media, Refinery 29, Blinder Films, Holly Films Productions, and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in Ireland.
