Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022)

My Review

“Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” is a comedy film about a London cleaning lady who becomes obsessed with a client’s fancy Dior dress and travels to Paris to obtain said frock. The hilarity proceeds from there with sparks flying in her dealings with upper class individuals at the Dior headquarters. Director Anthony Fabian (“Skin” 2008) instilled high production values into the picture, including co-writing the screenplay, based on a 1958 novel of the same name by Paul Gallico.

Lesley Manville plays the lead, seemingly sent by central casting for the title role of Mrs. Ada Harris. Co-stars include Isabelle Huppert, Lambert Wilson, Alba Baptista, Lucas Bravo, Ellen Thomas, Rose Williams, and Jason Isaacs. The watchable “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” was a modest hit in arthouse cinemas for eOne Features, Superbe Films, Moonriver Content, and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in Budapest, London, and Paris.
