My Review

John Wayne plays a man who attempts to locate a Native American girl’s father, so she is able to claim a $50,000 Indian oil claim in “Neath the Arizona Skies.” Some unscrupulous cowpokes try to horn in on the bonanza. This low-budget, B-Western film was capably directed by Harry L. Fraser and written by Burl R. Tuttle. The 52 minute motion picture was part of the Saturday morning double features that were popular in the Depression Era.

The cast includes John Wayne, Sheila Terry, Shirley Jean Rickert, Yakima Canutt, Earl Dwire, George Hayes, Jack Rockwell, Harry L. Fraser, and Jay Wilsey, credited under his stage name Buffalo Bill Jr. “Neath the Arizona Skies” was produced by Lone Star Productions and distributed by Monogram Pictures Corporation. It was filmed in the Santa Clarita area north of Los Angeles.
