My Review

“Nope” is a science fiction film about two brothers who run a California horse ranch and their attempt to capture on video a UFO that occasionally visits their property. The suspense builds with each arrive of the alien craft, somewhat in a combined style of Alfred Hitchcock and Steven Spielberg. Innovative director-screenwriter Jordan Peele (“Get Out” 1017) deserves all credit for this.

The cast includes Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yuen, Michael Wincott, Brandon Perea, Keith David, and Donna Mills, formerly well-known as Abby Ewing of television’s “Knots Landing” fame. The watchable “Nope” was a big hit at the box office for producer Jordon Peele, Monkeypaw Productions, and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in the Agua Dulce desert in northern Los Angeles County, California.
