Overboard (2018)

My Review

Wacky comedy abounds in the new remake of the 1987 movie “Overboard.” Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez fill in for Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in this story of a working class mom who convinces a rich playboy with amnesia that they are married.

Director Rob Greenberg, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Bob Fisher and Leslie Dixon, presided over this low-quality comedy that has very few genuine laughs. The viewer must realize that “Overboard” is not Shakespeare and take the little good with the majority bad material.

The supporting cast includes Eva Longoria, Swoosie Kurtz, Mel Rodriguez, and Darla Vandenbossche as the receptionist. “Overboard” was popular at the box office for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Pantelion Films, and Lionsgate Films. It was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia.
