My Review

“Red One” is a Christmas action-comedy film that tells the story of an evil villain kidnapping Santa Claus. Immediately, Santa’s head of security, E. L. F., teams up with a bounty hunter with an attitude and family problems to rescue the Big Man himself. Loads of comedy follow, thanks to expert direction by Jake Kasdan (“Jumanji: The Next Level” 2019) and a laugh-filled screenplay by Chris Morgan, from a funny story by Hiram Garcia.

The film is an ensemble effort with Duane Johnson as E. L. F. (Extremely Large & Formidable), Chris Evans as the bounty hunter, J. K. Simmons as Santa Claus, Lucy Liu as Director of the North Poll, Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus, as well as Kiernan Shipka, Kristopher Hivju, Nick Kroll, Wesley Kimmel, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Marc Evan Jackson, Jenna Kanell, Gursharn Arya, and Wyatt Hunt.

The very entertaining feel-good Christmas movie “Red One” has been popular at the box office for producers Duane Johnson, Jake Kasdan, and Chris Morgan, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Seven Bucks Productions, Big Indie Pictures, Amazon MGM Studios, and Warner Bros.
