Reminders of Him (2026)

My Review

“Reminders of Him” is a romantic drama film about a woman who returns to her hometown after serving a prison sentence, hoping to meet her young daughter born during her incarceration. UK director Vanessa Caswill (“Love at First Sight” 2023) was focused in her direction of the film, from the formulaic screenplay by Colleen Hoover and Lauren Levine. This is an interesting movie despite having a storyline we have seen before, adapted from the 2022 novel of the same name by Hoover.

The cast includes Maika Monroe as the jail bird, Rudy Pankow in flashbacks as Scotty Landry, Tyriq Withers as Scotty’s best friend, Zoe Kosovic as young Diem, Jennifer Robertson as the landlord, Nicholas Duvernay as Roman the bartender, Lainey Wilson as grocery store manager, and Lauren Graham and Bradley Whitford as Scotty’s parents and Diem’s grandparents/guardians. “Reminders of Him” was a modest success at the box office for Little Engine Productions and Universal Pictures. It was filmed in Calgary, Alberta.
