“Senior Moment” is a romantic comedy where William Shatner plays a retired Air Force pilot who has his drivers license taken away when he continually races around his home town of Palm Springs in his vintage 1955 convertible. Director Giorgio Serafini put together a formulaic romantic comedy-drama from a so-so script by Kurt Brungardt and Christopher Momenee. It was a flop at the box office for Goff Productions, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, and Screen Media Films.
The appeal of the film rests on the familiar personalities of the principal cast members, not only William Shatner in the lead role, but also with Jean Smart and Christopher Lloyd in support. We have seen them in so many television and movie roles over the years we feel that we know them. Co-stars include Esai Morales, Don McManus, Beth Littleford, Katrina Bowden, and Kal Smith as Timmy. Kay Ballard and Ruta Lee appear in small parts in “Senior Moment,” a watchable film which qualifies as fair escapist entertainment.
