Sleepless (2017)

My Review

“Sleepless” is a crime drama about an undercover Las Vegas policeman who finds himself caught between corrupt cops, internal affairs investigations, and dangerous gangsters. And circumstances lead to the kidnapping of his teenage son. German director Baran bo Odar put together a standard action thriller from the screenplay by Andrea Berloff.

The cast consists of Jamie Foxx in the lead role, Michelle Monaghan and David Harbour as the IA investigators, Scoot McNairy as a mobster, Dermot Mulroney as a businessman, Cliff “T. I.” Harris as his partner, Gabrielle Union as his ex-wife, Octavius J. Johnson as his son, Elijah Everett as a bathroom attendant, Holly Morris as the wife of Mulroney, and Steve Coulter as a frazzled concierge.

The watchable “Sleepless” broke even at the box office for Riverstone Pictures, Vertigo Entertainment, and Open Road Films.
