Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

My Review

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” introduces Tom Holland as the third Spider-Man (although he did make an appearance in last year’s “Captain America: Civil War”). The story follows a teenage Peter Parker as he is being mentored by Tony Stark and must balance superhero duties and high school homework. Director Jon Watts (“Cop Car” 2015) does an excellent job in this second reboot of “Spider-Man,” the 16th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The luci script was written by Watts and five others.

The cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Michael Keaton as Vulture, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Zendaya as Michelle, Donald Glover as Aaron Davis, Tony Revolori as Flash, Tyne Daly as the head of the U. S. Department of Damage Control, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Jacob Batalon as Peter’s best friend Ned.

The fun and watchable “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was the sixth highest grossing film of 2017 for producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, Pascal Pictures, and Sony Pictures Releasing. It was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Upcoming sequels – “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019), “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021), and the soon to be released “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (2026).
