“Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi” follows Rey as she attempts to undergo Jedi training under the reluctant and last remaining Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who is in hiding. Meanwhile, the dwindling Resistance led by General Leia Organa struggles to survive a relentless pursuit by Kylo Ren. Director-screenwriter Rian Johnson (“Looper” 2012) retains the high quality production values under this seventh “Star Wars” film and second in the final trilogy.

The cast includes Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, Adam Driver as Han and Leia’s son Kylo Ren, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, Lupita Nyongo as Maz Kanata, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Jimmy Vee as R2-D2, Frank Oz as Yoda, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Holdo, Benicio del Toro and Justin Theroux as codebreakers, Billie Lourd as Connix, and Prince William and Prince Harry in disguise as storm troopers.

“Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi” was the highest grossing film of 2017 for producer Kathy Kennedy, Lucasfilm Ltd., Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and The Walt Disney Company. It was filmed in England, Ireland, Croatia, and Bolivia. The movie has a 152 minute running time, and received four Oscar nods – Best Musical Score (John Williams), Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Visual Effects.
