My Review

“Switchmas” is a Holiday film centered around child actors Elijah Nelson as Ira Finkelstein and Justin Howell as Mikey Amato, who become acquainted in an airport rest area, waiting to transfer flights. Ira (from Los Angeles), was raised Jewish and never celebrated the Holiday, wants a Christmas experience. Mikey (from Chicago) doesn’t want to see his relatives, who he hasn’t seen since infancy. So they switch identities and proceed to fly to the other’s destination. The laughs and comedy proceeds from there!

Producer-director Sue Corcoran, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Douglas Horn and Jennifer Reibman, did an outstanding job of putting together this Christmas comedy together. In addition to outstanding production values, the film has a good-natured tone about it, treating the different religious views with respect. Young actors Elijah Nelson and Justin Howell are very talented, carrying this movie to a large extent.

Co-stars include Elliot Gould, David DeLuise, Cynthia Geary, Meg Savlov, Tony Doupe, Jenna Levin, and Angela DeMarco. The watchable “Switchmas” from Von Piglet Productions and independent filmmaker Sue Corcoran was never released to theaters. The original title was “Ira Finkelstein’s Christmas.” It was filmed in Leavenworth, Washington, a town modeled on a Bavarian village.
