My Review

Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Linda Hamilton, and producer James Cameron are reunited for the first time in 28 years in “Terminator: Dark Fate.” This sixth installment in the “Terminator” series (1984, 1991, 2003, 2009, 2015) is a direct sequel to the first two, which were the only films with the direct involvement of Cameron.

Director Tim Miller (“Deadpool” 2016) gives the audience plenty of action sequences, but the screenplay by David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray basically retells the old story with new actors. (A critical error by Cameron, in our view, was to kill off young John Connor the opening scene of this movie.)

The cast includes Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Arnold Schwarzeneggar as the T-800, Mackenzie Davis, Natalie Reyes, Gabriel Luna, Tom Hopper, and Stuart McQuarrie. “Terminator: Dark Fate” was a box office bomb for producer James Cameron, Skydance Media, Lightstorm Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Buena Vista International, and The Walt Disney Company. It was primarily filmed in Hungary and Spain. A new “Terminator” is reportedly in development, but Cameron stated that “Terminator: Dark Fate” is a fitting conclusion of the T-800 character.
