The Commuter (2018)

My Review

Liam Neeson has another one of his patented action thrillers out called “The Commuter.” In this one, he plays a man recruited into a murder conspiracy by a mysterious woman while on his daily train commute. The results are an exciting and engrossing movie thanks to crisp direction by Jaume Collet-Serra (“House of Wax” 2005) and a tightly written screenplay by Byron Willinger, Philip de Blasi, and Ryan Engle.

Neeson’s everyman persona and sincere aura serves him well in this project. Co-stars include Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Sam Neill, Elizabeth McGovern, Jonathan Banks, Killian Scott, and Florence Pugh. “The Commuter” was a hit at the box office for StudioCanal, The Picture Company, Ombra Films, and Lionsgate Films. It was primarily filmed in England with selected exterior shots in New York City.
