My Review

“The Day After Tomorrow” is a science fiction disaster film about a superstorm creating freezing conditions across the northern hemisphere. Director Roland Emmerich (“The Patriot” 2000) created an action-packed movie with outstanding special effects as the star of the show. However, the mediocre screenplay he co-wrote with Jeffrey Nachmanoff is a thinly disguised political lecture on climate change, intended to discredit the policies of the administration of President George W. Bush.

The cast includes Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Holm, Sela Ward, Jay O. Sanders, Emmy Rossum, Arjay Smith, Kenneth Walsh, and Perry King as the U. S. President. “The Day After Tomorrow” was the sixth highest grossing movie of 2004 for Lionsgate Films, The Mark Gordon Company, Centropolis Entertainment, and 20th Century Fox. It was filmed in Toronto and Montreal, Canada.
